CHRISTMAS STARS CHOSEN AS A FINALIST IN THE EPPIE AWARDS

A Review by: Ayden Delacroix

CHRISTMAS STARS by Rita Y. Toews is an unforgettable reminder that nature and man live side by side, and our decisions affect all around us. Catherine learned nature sometimes needs a helping hand and was rewarded by getting to watch many shy creatures in her backyard. My little boys loved this story and we have spent many nights reading this story, and days setting out birdseed and hay for our creatures. Don't miss this beautiful, touching story.

A Reader Review--
Christmas Stars By Rita Y. Toews is a wonderful book that teaches as well as entertains. I read it from my laptop, and my grandchildren love it. We sit together, and I read while they click to turn the pages. The joy of reading to your children is enhanced with this wonderful new format. Even the youngest gets excited about using the mouse and the colorful illustrations.

This book is proof that the wonder of Christmas still exists in the hearts and minds of children of all ages (myself included). I highly recommend Christmas Stars to anyone with children or grandchildren.

"... This story is a shining example of how to foster giving and caring in small children. What a wonderful read for parents to share with their little ones! It is extremely well-written and has an adorable main character.

CHRISTMAS STARS is a beautifully illustrated picture book (drawn by artist Jennifer Macaire) for children. This book is a great way to teach children how to use the mouse on the computer. It's a tremendous book, put together in a tremendous way. Bravo, Rita!

My children's faces lit up as they moved from page to page.... Toews's book is a wonderful tool to teach children love, caring, and responsibility.

Included in the back of the book, children can "Help Feed Catherine's Birds", and they can do a word search.

... This reviewer looks forward to more works by such a talented author.

Author Rita Toews warmed my heart with this touching story. She showed that by doing little acts of kindness, such as putting food out for the deer, the rewards would come back three-fold.

Illustrator Jennifer Macaire created lovely pictures for each page of the story. This is a perfect way for parents and children to have some delightful time together. Children will beg, "Can we read it one more time?" Highly recommended!
